07:29 AM ET 01.13 | On the one hand, Luol Deng is open to discussing an extension with Cleveland. [But] he also understands why the Cavs might want to put off those talks to first focus on trying to sign another All-Star small forward. LeBron James. "He's a great player, why wouldn't you look at him?" Deng told Yahoo Sports. "If he wants to come back home, that's great for him and great for this organization. He's a great player. Why not? I'm all right with that." ... The Cavaliers acquired Deng in a trade from the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 7 for center Andrew Bynum, who was waived, and three draft picks. The Bulls' surprising move came after the two-time All-Star turned down a three-year, $30 million contract extension. In Deng, the Cavs landed an elite veteran small forward that they have coveted since James departed for the Miami Heat.

Good lord a 44 point BEAT down if you could even call it that.....LMAO.

Also the "best" PG in the game got murdered by the last pick in the 2011 draft....

Guys just like i have said on Melo, AI, D-will Kyrie is NO superstar and is NOT a franchise player.....Its plain and simple...

January 13, 2014  08:01 AM ET

Let me see...The Cavs are going to miss out on BOTH of these players.....

January 13, 2014  08:18 AM ET

Ha ha ha Does Deng have a choice?

Who is a better PG than Kyrie? The Cavs losing this game is no more an indictment on Iving's talent as a player than the Heat's loss to the Knicks last week was an indictment on Lebron's. This is the NBA. Any team can lose to any team on an given night. Lets not make too much of one game.

hahahahahahahhaha.......exactly!

Deng is suited to help a contending team and not a rebuilding team that's why his numbers are down.

44 POINT BEAT DOWN BY THE SAC KINGS?!?!?!?!

The Cleveland Cavaliers are playing true to form which means that they are stinking up the joint. It 's looking like they will be in the lottery again this year.

The Cavs season begins and ends with the NBA draft

Lebron isn't coming back to Cleveland! Why would he want to come back to a sub .500 team with a defensive minded coach who, when the game's on the line, prefers to let his star player (Lebron first now Kyrie) go 1 on 5 instead of setting up an actual play!

January 13, 2014  09:23 AM ET

Also, why the hell would he want to leave the winters in South Beach to come back to Cleveland??? I love Cleveland but if I were in Lebrons shoes I would stay put in Miami and let Riley keep putting talent around me.

January 13, 2014  09:46 AM ET

So Deng is saying the writing is on the wall, and he has already reached his peak?

If Kyrie was more of a Lillard/Wall maybe Bron would consider.
But Some nights Kyrie is Kyrie 25, 5 & 2 steals.
Other nights he goes 1/7, 0/13...
Bron ain't got time for that!

That's how I took it too. Who would really have a problem with the best player in the world on their team anyway?

January 13, 2014  10:08 AM ET

Sounds like he is gone, ad I hope he finds a good contending team to go to.

He would be foolish to go back there....too much bad blood....plus me thinks for his legacy he does not want to be a type of Nomad and jump from team to team

I've got nothing against CLE or it's fine people, but i definitely wouldn't leave the beautiful sun and girls of MIA behind to move back to the arctic tundra of the midwest in winter.
