Rams looking to draft Bradford's replacement?

07:23 AM ET 01.14 | To date, GM Les Snead and head coach Jeff Fisher have been standing by Sam Bradford. The bosses have put the word out again: The Rams don't intend to take a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 draft. Seeing that I am among the town's leading Bradford apologists, you'd think this would make me happy. You would be wrong about that. I think the Rams would be shortsighted to rule out drafting a quarterback at No. 2 overall. ... At some point, even a Bradford honk will lose patience. But Bradford was coming along nicely until having his knee shredded in the seventh game of this season. The injury put Bradford down for the season. It was yet another attack of bad luck in a career that can't gain traction. And that's my primary concern here. This isn't about ability. It's about durability.

Talk about an under-rated QB who has quietly sucked with a secure job yo!

If you're hurt, you can't play.
If you can't play, you can't help.

That's the way it is.

Going to be an interestin draft for the Rams, they already have 2 first round picks!!!!

Fine, don't pick a QB with the #2 overall, but still pick one

For a while, Bradford looked like a solid guy who would develop into a real NFL starter. But, he never did, and he's had issues with injuries.

If the Rams don't start looking for that Quarterback of the Future, then they need a new GM that understands what's going on.

Injury ridden in college as well.

He had durability questions before he was even drafted. The Rams knew what they were getting themselves into when they selected Bradford.

Somebody in that organization has had lots of loyalty to Bradford because he never really crystallized into the QB they hoped for. I don't think he'll ever amount to much and they should fish or cut bait. He can still be a backup somewhere for sure but will always underwhelm as a starter.

With two first round picks the Rams are in position to nab one of the top QB's in the draft if they chose to, but if they are sold on Bradford then you take a defensive lineman and a offensive lineman in the first round.

Offense is ranked 27th and Defense 15th pretty obvious where they need the most help.

GMs commit and then don't want to admit mistakes. Something nuttily emotional about what should be logical, bloodless, business-like decision making.

Yup. It's like investors who are "loyal" to a stock. It doesn't usually work.

I got to hold a piece of history a couple of weeks ago... An authenticated rifle that was part of the arsenal taken in John Brown's raid.

Pretty damn cool.

Hang on to it. When the government decides to pay back our debts by printing money, Jefferson Davis will start to look pretty good.

That's incredibly cool. I hope you had someone take a picture of that.

They should trade the second pick to Buffalo for their 8th (? ) pick and their second and CJ Spiller. The Bills are good at getting rid of RB's who then churn up the league eg. Marshawn Lynch, Willis McGahee, Antowain Smith, Travis Henry, etc etc etc...
Rams then could become the same kind of contender that the other teams became (eg Seattle) with Johnny Football. This good enough to become a movie with so much joy yet in Buffalo so much sorrow.
