07:29 AM ET 01.15 | Heading into the AFC title game, the Patriots have an issue on their hands in the form of whether punter Ryan Allen will be able to play. There are no definitive answers. When asked about the situation Tuesday, Patriots coach Bill Belichick answered by saying to check Wednesday's injury report. What is known is the Patriots are not yet looking for alternatives. The team did not work out any punters during the day Tuesday, according to a league source, so it appears New England is still weighing its options with Allen. However, if the team sneaked a player in for an evening workout, it would not be reported to the league until Wednesday, according to the source. Allen suffered a shoulder injury in Saturday's win over the Indianapolis Colts and underwent an MRI Sunday afternoon.

Pats are all that.... Hell, Brady can punt on 4th down.

Brady will beat Manning yet again... What's my name.. What's my name.

Doug Flutie might be available.

Get a Klewe!

Having only one guy to punt and kick could be a bit risky, don't you think?

January 15, 2014  09:34 AM ET

Gostkowski did a fine job of punting Saturday night.

Besides, how often does the Denver defense force a punt?

I just read where the Pats are still hopeful that Allen will be available this Sunday. I'm not crazy about the Ghost doing the punting. What if he were to get hurt? They'd be down a punter as well as one of the best place kickers in the game today.

I don't understand the issue. It is his shoulder that is hurt not his leg. Kick it and get the F outta the way.

I'm more worried about Brady having to do the holding on place kicks. My guess is that they will let Mallett practice that this week.

Exactly. He might break a fingernail.

Brady did a punt earlier this year didn't he? 34 yards if I'm not mistaken. Just got to get another Bronco player to pull a Leon Lett and the Pats will be fine.

I've known the Pats to call a quick kick on third down if they've got a long way to go and the defense has no one back. Matt Cassel did that for them.

But if you're going to line up in punt formation, no, it's not going to be Brady.

I'm inclined to agree.

I'd let Edelman do it.

Well... you know that if he can't drop the ball he can't kick.

I guess that's the issue.

Right. Punters hold the ball at shoulder level before letting it go to get elevation on their kicks.

Just What The Pats Need a Sneaky Punter!!!!! Go Get Um, Tommy Boy!!!!!!

That and the fact that punters get run into. They'd like to have him back for the Super Bowl.
