07:31 AM ET 01.15 | Weather delayed him from his appointed rounds, so Ben McAdoo interviewed with the Giants on Monday. [But] before he sat down with Tom Coughlin, he was already picking the brain of quarterback Eli Manning. According to the quarterback, the two spoke last week. The Giants began interviews last Wednesday. "I've heard a lot of good things about Coach McAdoo," Eli Manning said. "I was able to talk to him over the phone last week and we had a great conversation. Obviously he's had a ton of success." ... From the beginning, the hire seemed to be about Manning. All of the candidates had a background in working with quarterbacks. Two of them, Mike Sullivan and Dowell Loggains, were very knowledgeable about the system the Giants ran. But from the looks of things, McAdoo impressed early.

It's soon going to be like Julius Caesar for Coughlin.

God move by the Giants, bringing in an OC who knows how an offensive position (QB) can affect the entire offenses production. Better then the Browns who routinely look for OC candidates who don't know how to run an offense.

good*

as if god would sully his hands on the giants.... aside from giving eli two super bowls.

The Ravens wanted to hire McAdoo a year ago and make him thier OC but the Packers refused to let him out of his contract. His contract was up this year. Good idea to bring in new ideas, surprised they only gave him a two year contract, but maybe that is all he wanted after the Packers broke protocol and would not let a guy move up in the NFL.

I still debate on whether or not he just wanted to get back at Satan (Belichick) rather then give it to Eli.

If he stays for another 2 years he might just stay the long haul there.
Maybe he's angling to return to the Steelers, it's a culture that most coaches and players have a hard time leaving (unless you're Keenan good-for-nothing-in-pittsburgh Lewis).

Remember when everyone swore that Cowher would wait for Tennessee because he wanted to live there?

He doesn't need the money, and I don't think he needs the aggravation of being a head coach now that he's used to the soft life in the booth.

I disagree....I think he wants to coach again but will only do so for a very short list of owners. Rooney's, Mara's, and maybe Kraft

lol soft life in the Booth? those guys have early mornings and late nights more so then coaches. It might be a bit less stressful at time but it's a job for them still.
Each job has its perks and downfalls. I'd think Cowher wants to cement his ticket to the hall of fame.
