Sixers led by a 22-year-old rookie

07:31 AM ET 01.15 | And a rookie shall lead them? [The Sixers] are 1-10 without rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams in the lineup. Yes, other factors contribute: fellow starters who miss the same games he missed; quality of opponent; tough personnel matchups on any given night. But 11 games is more than 13 percent of a full NBA season and constitutes a strong sample set. The Sixers are 11-15 in the games he played, entering tonight's visit from the Bobcats. That .423 winning percentage not only would make the Sixers a playoff team if the season ended today, it would give them the seventh seed. It also would make the Sixers better than New Orleans, where the Sixers traded All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday on draft night with plans to choose Carter-Williams with the 11th overall pick.

He is a lot better than i thought he would be....now they just need to keep everyone together. Evans, young, hawes, and then see what they can do when Noel gets healthy....

Can't compare it to Holiday. They would have a better record if he was still w/ the Sixers because of a bad EC.

I like this kid's demeanor on the court. He just seems so joyful to be out there playing.

My vote for the ROY is his.

I highly doubt it. As good as Holiday is he can't carry a team to wins like this Rook has been doing. Michael Carter-Williams is just a better all around player then Holiday

At the rate this kid is going, he deserves nothing less than ROTY. Very promising future ahead granted he stays healthy.

In a weak conference this year, Holiday would have done better. Holiday is a better shooter and can attack the basket better.

I agree with the better shooter part but that's about it.

Holiday is better but only a better shooter and experience in the NBA. MCW brings slighly better defense than Holiday with less shooting skills but I think he attacks the basket just as good as Holiday rebounds better and sets teammates just as good. Compare Holiday's numbers last year to MCW's this year and they are relatively close.

If he continues to improve his shot then we will have a problem. I have seen MCW give some of the "better" pg's problems because of his height he has an advantage over most pg's. If only we had some better shooters his stats would be better but they are still very good especially for a rookie PG. He leads the league in Steal per game

Exactly man I said the same thing. Holiday is a better shooter I will give him that but besides that MCW is just as good or even better.

He is the ROY so far has started in 26 out of 37 games. Trey Burke has missed just as much time as him. Oladipo hasn't really separated himself and hasn't put up beter numbers. MCW's numbers and in game performances have been better overall than both of them. The only way MCW doesn't win it if one those two have some serious breakout second hald of the season.

He should be ROY. I just think that Holiday would have gotten more wins w/ the current squad against the EC because of his experience. MCW is gonna be good. He just needs to get that shooting percentage up especially at 3 point range or just concentrate on just making short jumpers and layups. I think the Sixers are in a bind because of losing 2 more of their good players in Turner and Young...

if he plays the rest of the season and doesn't miss many games
thats fine
But he has missed about a third of the games so far.
if he misses another 10-15....
regardless of his #s- I don't think he should win
