07:33 AM ET 01.17 | Mikail Prokhorov has a lot going on -- and the Nets, yes, are not far from his thoughts, no matter how far away he happens to be on a given day. The Moscow-based businessman went to several games last season after being a no-show for the entire 2011-12 campaign. "Frankly speaking, there's a lot of criticism that I am not in Brooklyn. But I just have a question for you: Do you really think you need me sitting in the arena to see a game?" said Prokhorov, noting that he has been busy preparing for the Winter Olympics in Sochi as the president of Russia's Biathlon Union. "My friends, we are living in the 21st century. And in spite of the fact I have no computer, I still have a subscription for NBA games ... So like I'm full in, I'm all in for this team and I think it's the only way how to reach championship."

I wouldn't blame him for being absent.

The Nets are just a toy for him. While it would be nice to win a title he is probably not losing any sleep over it.

Guys who sign the cheques tend to want to see the team up close and personal to evaluate the success of the team on the floor and above (administration). This is just a hobby for him. If he were obsessed with winning, he would be there. Period.

I don't like meddling owners as much as the next guy, but you have to have your finger on the pulse, to say the least.

Prokhorov is letting his people do their job. The man paid for some decent talent the last couple of years, but it is unfortunate the talent would rather count paychecks instead of championships...
