Schneider to blame for ugly SO record

07:45 AM ET 01.17 | Often this year, as he's taken over the No. 1 job in New Jersey, Cory Schneider has been the Devils' best player, and the same was probably true Thursday in Denver. All that good work, yet Schneider left with a sour taste in his mouth because of what went on when this contest went to a second-point-ups-for-grabs skills competition. Once again, the Devils lost in a shootout, falling 2-1 to the Avs. That's eight in a row without a win this season and 12 dating to last March. ... The Devils currently are one point out of a playoff spot that would be theirs for now if they just a lousy 2-6 instead of a dreadful 0-8 in shootouts. ... [Said Schneider:] "For whatever reason right now, I'm not coming up with those saves in the shootout, so it's something that I need to address and get better at."

Ugly Is An Understatement, Bro.

Hey - at least he made it to a shootout 8 times. Cut the dude some slack!

January 17, 2014  08:15 AM ET

And might be nice if the team could score a few more goals and not need the shootout.

Yep. But NJ.com is a terrible website with terrible writers and those same words can be applied to what I think about the shoo...*looks at Leafs' shootout record this season*...nah man he's gotta hold it down during the shootout!

good points both
but the guy does need some goal support
and I agree about NJ.com
(see post on previous thread)

With these daily Schneider articles can we not get at least one picture of him in his white T shirt , black vest , with a pack of smokes tucked into one sleeve ?

Exactly. The dude has a GAA under 2.00, yet has a losing record. Out of his 9 regulation losses his teammates were shutout in 4 of those games.

It's always the goalies fault when the team loses, don't you know? Always!

good, stay on the white path here

You can't really blame the Goalie for 1-0 and 2-1 shootout losses. If they 6-5 then I might agree.

She's on Social Security by now, playing bingo because there's less letters.
