05:15 PM ET 01.17 | Since being fired from the Tennessee Titans, Mike Munchak has received plenty of interest at the professional and collegiate level. After losing out on the Detroit Lions and Penn State Nittany Lions head coaching vacancies, Munchak is now looking at a potential positional coaching gig. According to reports, he will be meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers about the offensive line coach position. There is no date set for their meeting. If the Steelers were able to land Munchak as the team's offensive line coach, it could be exactly what they need to finally get that unit playing up at a respectable level. However, they will have some competition from the Houston Texans, who also met about a potential OL coach gig.

Sounds like a significant step backwards.

Gotta stay in the game.

Steelers do not need an oc coach, they need a new qb.let's be honest now.

ooops ol coach.

If we can get him that'd be a big step forward over John Bicknell Jr.
I was calling for the guys head since Decastro took out Pouncey. Hopefully he'll want to step back from HC to OL coach. He's definitely at the age where if he doesn't land at least an OC job he'll probably never make it to head coach again.

but it's hard to go backwards from the Titans.

The Steelers could be using Munchak to put pressure on Haley. The old if the Offense doesn't play well next season we have your replacement already on staff gig.

The Steelers desperately need a new offensive line coach. Even with Pouncey out they stilled had a lot of talent on that line that just wasn't performing up to its capabilities.

What's wrong with Ben? He and the offense but up some good numbers this year. Why isn't anyone looking at the defense? There were a few games where the D lost it for them.

I was thinking the same thing, but then he said coach (which I also think is wrong).

You can't pin the 0-5 start on Big Ben, they had ZERO running game (a problem corrected IMMEDIATELY when LeVeon Bell got healthy) and his 13' numbers were BETTER than his career averages in yds, completion pecentage, TDs and INTs - what more do you want from a QB with a banged up front line and no running game for 2/3 season?

I can't possibly see how you can blame Ben, and if there is a better QB on the market name him....

Cutting his hair? Wouldn't that interfere with his right to look like Clarabell?

Agreed. But Ben isn't the problem. He had no protection out there. And I think there will be changes on defense. Some of those guys are pretty long in the tooth.
