11:18 AM ET 01.18 | Marshawn Lynch switched to running back before his varsity career began at Oakland Technical High School. But he apparently hadn't given up his quarterback dreams when he got to college. George Cortez, the University of California's offensive coordinator in Lynch's first two seasons, recalls a conversation after the Golden Bears lost the Holiday Bowl to Texas Tech in 2004 -- star quarterback Aaron Rodgers' final college game before turning pro. "He came up to me in the restroom and says, 'I want to try out for quarterback this spring," Cortez told USA TODAY Sports this week. "I said, 'Marshawn, it's not Pop Warner. You're a tailback.'"

The sound you are hearing right now are 100 million college football fans not reading T&R. The offseason is in full effect. Where's all the Domer Homers predicting a return to the BCS championship this season. It's prime time for you jabronies.

Oh well, I'm gonna hit the pool. It's 80 degrees here in the middle of freaking January. Climate Change is a hoax, dontcha know.

I guess you haven't been following the weather in most other parts of the country where it has been very cold this winter. But believe whatever you want.

One of the criteria used to evaluate the news-worthiness of a story is TIMELINESS. Some one at USA Today failed or skipped Journalism 101.

No "climate change" scientist, projection or model ever said it would not be cold again. When people make comments such as you to disprove climate change you demonstrate your ignorance on the topic. Yes it has been a normal winter in Ohio this year by historic standards. Not record setting by any stretch of the imagination, just normal.

This fact does not mean manmade, "unnatural" climate change is not happening. Read up on the topic, there is lots of science behind it.

They still teach journalism? I'll be darned.

Marshawn was always a little haywire. After one CAL win at home - equaling the team's entire win production for 2013 - he drove a golf cart round and round the sidelines. Great RB, but his motherboard's been jarred a few times too many.
