Titans owner blowing smoke signals

07:35 AM ET 01.20 | If it's nearing football's offseason, 'tis the season for the scrutiny to rise on top-rated players such as Teddy Bridgewater. [Houston owner Bob McNair] has started the ball rolling. In truth, McNair was doing what all owners with the top choice do at this point in the process. In an effort to determine the value of possibly swapping the pick for additional slots that might benefit a needy team, one has to advertise a little bit and try to attract some buyers. It's not quite the equivalent of being a snake-oil peddler, but there definitely is a huckster-ish sales pitch mentality to it all. "It's almost expected of the (top drafting) team," one front office executive whose team owned the No. 1 pick in recent years, said last week. "It's straight out of the manual, you know?"

Is it 'white' smoke OR 'black' smoke'? The Pope wants to know... 8-)

It the Titans owner is blowing smoke it is to make it harder for the teams fans or anyone to see him. They have a few unanswered questions. Quite a few.
