07:57 AM ET 01.20 | With a contract question dangling, the question has to be asked. Could there be only 32 regular-season games -- and perhaps some playoff games -- left in Ryan Callahan's career as a Ranger? That's the question under the surface as the Rangers brace for another run to a possible post-season berth. ... According to projections, 14 teams will have more than $23 million in cap space. The Rangers will have $31 million. Buffalo will have $41 million. You think Pat LaFontaine and the Sabres wouldn't love to have an upstate hero come home? What about the Ducks, who will need to replace Teemu Selanne? How about the Red Wings putting Callahan with either Pavel Datsyuk or Henrik Zetterberg? Think John Tortorella might find some room for a former heart-and-soul guy out on the Pacific Coast?

So the Wings will replace Alfredsson, Samuelsson, Bertuzzi, Cleary and Eaves with Vanek and Callahan? That sounds like a good idea to me.

I like that idea too. Lots of ice time for Vanek and Callahan, but I'm sure they'll adapt.

I would keep Bertuzzi, only because the other teams players are scared of him.

Love Callahan.......when he's on the ice......really good player....lots of injuries though....

I want Bertuzzi to retire so Holland and Babcock don't have to make that decision.

I want him gone because he doesn't throw his aged body around much anymore, he's slow, he's lost some of his scoring touch and he's keeping young & hungry guys like Sheahan & Jurco off the roster.

Very good idea! And ..... let's throw Mike Cammalleri in for good measure.

But I want him gone for the same reason I wanted him gone a decade ago - he's a vicious criminal who attacked another human being ....

..... something that Leafs players do on a regular basis without any consequences.

The man payed his debt to society far more than any other. He can play on my team as long as he can..

No, no then the crowd at the Joe would start throwing SQUID on the ice:)

Good player - he actually deserves better - he's almost as effective as Sid, when he stays away from the crap, and just plays.

Yep you are correct.

since he is from Rochester, expect Lafontaine and Nolan to heavily lobby him to join the Sabres, who are the Rocheter AHL team's parent club. the money being mostly equal from all offers.

Anybody (Lupul, Mrs. Pinch) who intentionally crosscheck somebody in the face or neck does so with criminal intent and deserves the scorn of entire hockey world. Just because the player on the receiving end of a vicious crosscheck does not sustain a 'serious' injury, does not excuse the attacker's criminal behavior anymore that Bertuzzi throwing an ill advised hay-maker.

Just following your glorious mayor's example. And, BTW, even if Torontonians believe they own exclusive rights to dumbness, I will not ask permission to exercise that right on occasion.

Thank you. 'Dignified' does not become you anyway.
