07:58 AM ET 01.20 | Mr. Tortorella, there's a call from the league -- would you like to take it? [Tortorella] is expected to return to New York early this week for a disciplinary hearing with NHL VP Colin Campbell. And Tortorella will be suspended, all right, probably for a minimum of five games and a max sentence of 10, for his actions that could have incited a dangerous riot in a crammed hallway if any of the Flames' players or coaches had gotten physical with him. And as he acted in that one as the home coach responding to the visiting team's starting lineup, Tortorella may have been in the wrong on Saturday in a theoretical, ethereal environment, but in fact did what was necessary in the real world of an NHL that countenances fighting and does not in any manner reward teams who chose to unilaterally disarm.

My head hurts from reading that last sentence.

This was not a civil tort

Only thing missing was someone in the tunnel shouting about donuts.

Yeah, really. Are we talking about Torts or Iran?

I think I've been pretty consistent with my opinion of Torts. Funny thing though, I was at my Sunday night game last night and one of our players is childhood buddies with Luongoal...he flies out 3-4 times par season and usually stays in his home. Supposedly the players in that room absolutely love Torts. I don't get it, personally...but I won't argue with it.

I can say with certianty that pretty much nobody in the Habs room cares for Therrien. I take it for what it is...both teams are slightly above average and neither plays with a great amount of passion...

No chance of a fight, I heard six Flames were on the other side holding that door shut. Nothing worse than a hot tempered Italian:)

Too bad that Hartley who has a reputation for annoying the hell out of people, especially opposing coaches, walks away from this incident laughing. I'd like to see him get a 3 game suspension just for being really irritating.

Btw, I tried to use the words ethereal, countenance and unilaterally in what I wrote above but it didn't work out for me. Obviously, I'll never be an intern.

Patience...

Your chance will come again. Can't force the issue.

Torts is a far more volatile entity than Iran at this point.

Indeed. Torts cant even spell "uranium enrichment"

He got a thesaurus for christmas.

I have met Hartley on a few occasions, I can definitely see how he can easily get under people's skin...

Torts and Hartley are both cut from the crappy cloth so it is no surprise that they hate each other.

Couldn't be more correct.

I admit .... a Flames player throwing a hay-maker and landing the little she*yet on his butt would've been a nice touch!

Anybody recall Roger Nielsen standing on the Canucks' bench with a white towel on a stick?

This was Tortorella's attempt at that.

Attempting to right a sinking ship.
