04:31 PM ET 01.20 | The San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks gave each other all they had in the NFC Championship, with the 49ers having a last chance to put together a late, game-winning drive. Unfortunately for San Francisco, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman made a big play to ice the win. Throughout the game, 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick made some questionable decisions that led to turnovers, and he took the responsibility for the loss and wants the blame to be placed on his shoulders.

That's good, Colin. I blame you, too. You had plenty of time to reset for another play. No reason to force that pass to Crabtree.

January 20, 2014  11:14 PM ET

And here I thought it was Tony Romo's fault!!

January 20, 2014  11:19 PM ET

Duh.

January 20, 2014  11:28 PM ET

I called him Vince Ferragamo during the season, thinking he was a flash in the pan.

But, the stupid bicep kiss aside, he grew as a QB quite a bit this year. That 4th qtr yesterday was atrocious, but he'll be back and even better.

January 20, 2014  11:38 PM ET

he should take the blame...

Without his 130 yds running, the 9ers probably would have lost that game by more than just 6.

The only way the 49ers will learn from their mistakes is by getting rid of Greg Roman.

Once again Greg Roman and his offense were totally unprepared. The defense caused Russell Wilson to fumble and the offense sputtered going 3 and out and settling for a FG instead of TD.

Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman has yet to put together an offensive game plan in which the 49ers scored more than 20 points against Seattle. Before the game I said that if the Greg Roman could not score more than 23 points ( the 49ers only scored 23 points @ AZ, @ G.B., @Carolina ) then they will not win. In fact they only scored 17.

Of Kaepernicks 3 turnovers Seattle only scored 3 points, the same amount of points the 49ers scored from Russell Wilsons fumble- Each QB gave up 3 points.

The 49ers defense and Special Teams made 5 blunders that cost the 49ers the game

#1 Donte Whitner gave up a 51 yard pass that led to Seattle first FG. SF- 10, Sea-3

#2 On 3rd and 1 yard the defense allowed Lynch to run 40 yards for a TD, non of the 49er DB attempted to tackle him at the 5 yard line . SF-10, Seattle -10

#3 - After Kaepernick throws a 28 yard TD pass to Boldin, Seattle's Baldwin returns the kickoff 69 yards resulting in a FG. SF - 17, Sea - 13

#4 Seattle facing 3rd down and 22 yards threw to Zach Miller who picked up 15 yards.

#5 Seattle faciing 4th down and 7 yards from the 49er 35 throw a " Hail Mary" to Kearse who beat Carlos Rogers. SF - 17 , Sea - 20 .

Amazing how everyone forget the other 58 minutes and only feel content knowing that someone decided to step up and take the blame. That final INT ended all hopes for the 49ers, it was not what cost them the game, the "Hail Mary" to Kearse is what cost the 49ers the game, that play put Seattle in the lead for the first time all game.

It wasn't a Hail Mary. It was an accurate pass for a touchdown that was placed perfectly. Sure, there was more to the game than Kap's 2 interceptions. But the final one with Sherman glued to Crabtree should have never happened.

Just don't think he's an elite QB and it's because of his passing and inability to progress thru his reads. His legs get him out of a lot of trouble and also hide a lot of flaws. He's in love with Crabtree and forces things. I'll bet if you look at the entire play, you'll see Boldin coming open either in the seam or across the middle and if not, then that's Roman's fault for not setting it up that way. Crabtree was doubled and I'd bet Vernon Davis was doubled as well, so you have to look for Boldin. They picked him up for exactly that situation.

Mock Manning all you want, but the guy studies and knows what the match ups are when the ball is snapped. Kaepernick always seems rushed and flustered if his first option isn't available.

Along with his "Happy Feet" -- it appears if his primary receiver is not open, he goes into the "happy Feet" mode and just chucks the ball or runs ... that my friends is going to get him hurt sooner or later.

He should have chucked the ball out of bounds instead of throwing into double coverage in the corner of the end zone.

If that had been a back shoulder pass it would have been a TD, He was only single covered.

True, but it looked like double coverage with Sherman on Crabtree.

January 21, 2014  03:54 PM ET

In his defense, The Refs helped them lose too!

January 21, 2014  06:06 PM ET

Kap takes to long in the pocket to make a decision. It seems like his reading of the defenses needs a lot of work. Great physical specimen, but a mental midget?????

January 21, 2014  08:20 PM ET

Kaepernick is all class.

They will need another target after they let Boldin go.

January 21, 2014  11:37 PM ET

good that kaepernick blames himself because I have not heard talk about him getting the goat horns for this game from anyone really.... although he should because any QB should in a six point game get it when they throw 2 picks has one lost fumble and probably should have had two lost fumbles.

January 21, 2014  11:50 PM ET

when I saw before the game that kaepernick had only a 53% completion percentage I thought that crabtree could be jerry rice but it wont mean anything if he cant get the ball there and now he was playing the best defense in the NFL. the kid has a lot of growing to do but it seems like he will have a chance to do just that.
