04:33 PM ET 01.20 | Sunday was not kind to the San Francisco 49ers. During the team's loss to the division rival Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship, they watched two key starters - linebacker NaVorro Bowman and guard Mike Iupati - go down with potentially serious injuries. After the game, head coach Jim Harbaugh said that the initial diagnosis led the team to believe Bowman suffered a torn ACL, and he also shared an update on Iupati. While it is still not official, Harbaugh feared for the worse and said that it appeared Iupati may have suffered a broken ankle.

they got plenty of time to heal

The 49ers are happy that Iupati only broke his fibula and it will not require surgery to fix. Iupati will be at full strength in 2 months.

Bowman will be back somewhere between the start of the season and late October.

"... Harbaugh feared for the worse ..."

Well, at least he didn't fear for the worst.

That's good to hear. I hate to see the guys that do all the grunt work on offense go down with an injury. He's one of the top 5 OL's in MHO.
