07:22 AM ET 01.21 | By now, just about everyone has seen The Rant -- the one Richard Sherman delivered at a sideline reporter after the Seahawks cornerback knocked down a pass intended for San Francisco wide receiver Michael Crabtree that sent Seattle to the Super Bowl. Competing for the ball were perhaps the most bitter rivals in this bitter rivalry. ... Said Crabtree of Sherman: "He's a TV guy. I'm not a TV guy. I play ball. He made one play and he talks. It was a good play." Sherman has been upset with Crabtree since last summer. Both attended Arizona star receiver Larry Fitzgerald's charity event. While there, Sherman went to shake Crabtree's hand, and Crabtree tried to start a fight, according to Sherman's older brother, Branton. "I'm going to make a play and embarrass him," Richard Sherman vowed that day.

Wow, the most bitter rivalry... that we've only recently heard about

January 21, 2014  08:13 AM ET

Crabtree can talk all he wants... but he alligator-armed one the other night.

January 21, 2014  08:22 AM ET

The only thing Crabtree is known for is beating Texas one game.

That's OK, Richard is about to be embarrassed on the world stage by a master. Shred this guy to pieces Mr Manning!

This is not the story. The real story is this is the second strait year a Harbaugh coached team has belly flopped at the end of a game. Last years highly questionable red zone plays at the end of the superbowl game and now this. His team was in FG range, he had timeouts in his pocket, time on the clock to run any plays they had and they choose to throw to the guy covered by the other teams best CB? Really? Harbaugh has some splainin' to do.

sherman needs to shut up and color before Denver disrespects his knappy a$$....

January 21, 2014  08:34 AM ET

Erin Andrews made the play of the day when she threw that interview back up to the booth.

January 21, 2014  08:37 AM ET

This fool makes a complete **** of himself at the end of the game merely because Kaepernick made him look good with a terrible pass.

I asked The Greatest Corner what he thought of Sherman yesterday.

"I think he really is the best corner in the league. Wikipedia says he's 25. I'm betting that he can get whatever character flaws that he might have corrected. I did."

True, but if they had scored while Seattle had been biting on the run then we'd be talking about how that 1st down passing play was great misdirection on Harbaughs part.
All corners make mistakes and that was one-on-one, there wasn't going to be a better time to beat Sherman. Probably would've been a better time to beat Seattle though so you're right.

Dumb play call when you have the best option QB in the game. play to your strength. They could have/ should have sent crabtree away from any play and take Sherman out of it and rolled their QB. You know half the Seahawks defenders would have followed. Dumb call to begin with. When did crabtree ever get behind Sherman in that game?

Didn't a Harbaugh coached team win the Super Bowl last year?

January 21, 2014  09:30 AM ET

I have watched Trent Williams punch Sherman in the face at least 20 times. What a moron, have some respect for your team and the game. Ten other guys helped make that play happen.

Nice...

Sherman is leaving something out of the story. Why would Crabtree just want to fight someone who tried to shake their hand? We all know what type of person Sherman is, so what did he do to provoke this "fight" Crabtree tried to start?

I agree with Mr. Green's assessment.

As far as character flaws, I'd rather hear Sherman proclaim himself the best as opposed to the generic "No one believed in us" or "We overcame so much" drivel. We all get PO'd when athletes and coaches spout the company line. When it goes the other way, we're supposed to be PO'd too?
