07:23 AM ET 01.21 | In a way, Jets coach Rex Ryan hopes it is about the hair. [Ryan] thought this was going to be the year his brother, Rob, joined him as an NFL head coach. But Rob Ryan, the Saints defensive coordinator, did not even get an interview for one of the head-coaching vacancies. There have been reports that owners are scared off by Rob Ryan's long hair. Rex said that's the best explanation he's heard. "You tell me one other reason why he doesn't have a [head-coaching job] right now with the kind of job he did," Rex Ryan told The Post on Monday at a practice for the Senior Bowl. "Maybe that's it. I told him, 'Dude, how about you go get a haircut?' ... I can't explain it. Is it the hair? I don't know. I'm trying to get him to get a haircut. Hopefully, this is one of the things that motivates him to do so."

How about stop being one of the family blowhards, and let your work speak for itself.

Oh, and get a haircut.

Today's NFL head coaches are put on a pedestal by the owners and the media. Most of these coaches have more press conferences than the President. Now the look is lean and trim for the public to see except in KC.

It's not his hair Rex, it is him. Better coordinators than him have been passed over for HC jobs.

Glad to see Otis is back to his old self today. What was with the AV change yesterday?

Robs got a good thing going for once, let him enjoy it while the Saints destroy his defense to pay Graham.

Everything aside, Rob Ryan knows he's never going to be considered for a HC gig as long as he looks the way he does. He continues to choose to look the way he looks. Maybe, just maybe, Rob is signaling that he doesn't want a head coaching job.

Rex needs a mirror. He may be part of the problem? Teams are probably saying to themselves " But what if he brings the circus to town with him like his brother Rex?"

January 21, 2014  09:12 AM ET

Rex's (lack of) performance as a HC just might have something to do with the lack of interest in Rob.

January 21, 2014  09:14 AM ET

Might have something to do with being a foul mouthed blow hard. Or the fact that his organizational skills are weak. Or that his defenses never seem to last 60 minutes. Or might be the that he would be an embarrassment to any respectable team.

The league will then become a two ring circus.

Christie's bid for the presidency is DOA.

I didn't know he refused to answer questions about Benghazi, too.
