03:39 PM ET 01.21 | Super Bowl XLVIII will take place Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., and we know that the matchup will be the Seattle Seahawks against the Denver Broncos. What we didn't previously know was what jersey the teams will be wearing, but now we have our answer. With the AFC champion being designated as the home team, the Denver Broncos got the first crack at their choice of jersey. With the decision in the hands of the Broncos, they have decided to wear their orange jerseys for the big game. For those who are interested in obscure statistics, the Denver Broncos have never won a Super Bowl when they wore their orange jerseys in the championship. They will hope to reverse the trend this year.

What is this, E! Entertainment Weekly? Will Joan Rivers be standing by for fashion commentary?

Thank goodness. Now I know how to accessorize my outfit.

espn did a piece when the Lakers played the Celtics about how jersey colors can increase the overall pleasure of watching a game and make it more stimulating to the viewer.

The study found that the combination of green/white vs. purple/yellow was the most stimulating combination of colors.

I think team colors are more than just pleasing to the eye but a sign of pride. Yeah it reeks of "fashion police" but go tell a Redskins fan to wear green or blue. I'm glad the Broncos are wearing orange. No other team in the NFL wears orange anymore (except the Bengals but when are they going to get to a Super Bowl).

Dont they alternate every year for home/away teams?

Next year, the NFL should have a 'team jersey color draft', like they are doing to pick the Pro Bowl teams.

Each year, the NFL gets one step closer to being the WWf.

Yep. Even SB's, like SB 48, the AFC wears their home uni's. For odd SB's the NFC wears their home uni's.
