Rockets GM mocks Howard snub

07:29 AM ET 01.24 | The voters have spoken, and the words are unkind in the case of Dwight Howard. Howard was stunningly excluded from the list of Western Conference All-Star starters, finishing fourth among frontcourt players when Minnesota forward Kevin Love passed him in the final days of balloting. A player who had twice passed 3 million votes, more than twice the number anyone received this season, Howard received just 653,318. ... The removal of the center position from the ballot, and of his defensive-minded center from the All-Star starters, drew the attention of Rockets general manager Daryl Morey. Morey declined to comment on the voting but sent a tweet: "NBA all-star voting process set up well for Iowa high school girls basketball. Offense only & only guards and forwards."

He Didn't Get LA's Vote, Bro.

It's unfortunate that votes went away from such a deserving (for his athleticism) player. But when you display Iowa high school girl-like emotions in the media, it turns people off.

Does this mean there won't be a child born in NOLA in November?

Gotta work on your image Dwight.

Not a very smart move by the GM. You can't win w/ this kind of statement. Fans will remember this and will make sure he doesn't get in again next time. He is actually accusing the fans as being stupid. This GM is truly sour grape. He also basically stated that Love sucks and doesn't deserve to be there. Dumb GM!

The long drawn out 3 year saga starting in Orlando really hurt his popularity. He needs to lead his team to the WCF and Finals to redeem himself. That's how LBJ repaired his image.

Yup. There was a more positive way of sticking up for his player without the nonsense he tossed in.

Now if Harden and Dwight don't get voted in by the coaches then he can really complain.

Oh the Knicks ship continues to take on water....Last night espn " trade tracker " had a scenario, where the Knicks unload melo to Phoenix for Bledsoe ( some other filler to match salaries ) and at least 2 of their 4 first round picks.....I would be fully behind this!

I think that would be an interesting move. Start retooling with younger guys.

I don't think too my of us think this current crew can get it done any more. Key players have become a little injury prone and there aren't enough assets to add more talent. Trading Melo may be the best opportunity to improve.
