07:25 AM ET 01.24 | Weather or not, here it comes. If there's a severe weather event that hits on Super Bowl Sunday or the day before, the game could be moved to Monday, Feb. 4. [Eric Grubman, NFL vice president of business operations] said his weather advisers told him it's silly to forecast the weather for Super Bowl Sunday any more than seven days in advance. So he's preparing for worst-case scenarios. ... The NFL is providing fans attending the game with a warm-weather kit that will be waiting for them at their seats. Along with a seat cushion, fans will receive ear-muffs, text-friendly gloves, hand warmers, a knit cap, Kleenex, a cup holder, lip balm and an in-stadium radio that will allow them to hear the play-by-play call of the team.

Not Warm Weather!!!! That's for sure!

January 24, 2014  07:39 AM ET

don't really care if those corporate big shots freeze or not.

Having first-hand experience trying to text in cold-ass weather... text-friendly gloves sound appealing.

$100,000 for a seat screw the texting, you should at least watch the game. Those seats should come with complimentary Gore-Tex polar suits.

January 24, 2014  08:09 AM ET

calling it a warm-weather kit is a huge fail

January 24, 2014  08:11 AM ET

Monday, February 4th., of what year?

How lovely the NFL giving out sissy bags so the bigshots don't get cold.....Hope the temps in the teens with snow.

I was thinking more along the lines of another of those polar vortex things.

I hope it is -25 with a wind chill in a stadium full of snow piled high while all of us at home are watching from our warm TV rooms.

Rodger Goofball in an effort to give NY/New Jersey a chance to host a Super Bowl Knowing full well the chance of bad weather could happen was pretty high. Lets set up a Super Bowl in Chicago or Green Bay. There will likely be some empty seats. Spending thousands of dollars for tickets to sit in frigid weather to risk frostbite. I will have a nice warm seat in my den and be able to see the game from my recliner. If the game has to be changed to monday could cost NFL a lot of money in refunds.

January 24, 2014  09:20 AM ET

For some reason I have this vision of a few fans being frozen solid in the middle of a text and for the rest of the game no one notices.

So now the reason to spend thousands of dollars for a Super Bowl ticket is so that you can go to the game and take a bunch of pictures and text your friends and completely miss the game. Fear not the game was recorded at home . No longer will a grandfather be able to exaggerate the stories of the Super Bowl he attended. All his actions will be recored on his GoPro Camera. Gee Grandpa the weather wasn't that bad you liar, I saw your recording of it.

How long before those warm weather SB kits hit E Bay?

January 24, 2014  09:30 AM ET

I hope it's a blizzard next Friday - Tuesday!

I guess I'm just not a today kind of guy.

Warm weather, cold weather, driving monsoon, sitting on my couch.

Never done it, period.

Exactly.

Half the SB crowd fits in this category, will be funny to see half-filled stands in the 3rd quarter.

January 24, 2014  09:52 AM ET

Pray for 30kt winds and rain in the first quarter changing to a driving snow storm that not only buries the BS lipsynching half time "show", but also shuts down JFK, LaGuardia and Newark. This is what the NFL deserves. Your most over hyped marquee player completely negated due to weather in the one game where NFL corporate can actually pick the location. Perfect.

The NFL got what it wanted. No sympathy here.
