07:38 AM ET 01.24 | With another injury hanging over Michigan State -- this one will sideline Branden Dawson for 4-to-5 weeks -- the status of Adreian Payne takes on more importance. Payne has missed the last four games with a sprained right foot. Tuesday, following the Spartans' 71-66 win over Indiana, head coach Tom Izzo said that he did not know whether or not his senior forward would be ready to play against the Wolverines (14-4, 6-0). But no matter who their opponent is Saturday or how much the injury to Dawson heightens the need for Payne, Izzo insists the chances are slim that he'll play. "I've been as honest with you guys as I can be," Izzo said Thursday after practice. ... "His chances of playing Saturday are slim to none. Slim meaning slim. And when he'll play is gonna be strictly between me and him."

You appear to be feeling better today, so that's good. As for the Loserines coming for a visit, Izzo knows that his guys at full strength would embarras our "friends" from Ann Arbor, therefore he figured he would play without two of his starters just to even things up.
