Time to deal Letang

07:40 AM ET 01.24 | Kris Letang picked up his 10th goal of the season on Thursday night, and he's played all 417 of his NHL games in Pittsburgh, but is he a Pen for life? [When asked] if he had ever want to play anywhere else, he responded unflinchingly: "I'm a guy who affords a lot of respect to people when it's due. Pittsburgh is the city that gave me the chance to play in the NHL at 19 years old. The ownership takes care of us like no other. For me, it would be important to finish my career here." He means it, too. He's a great kid. Occasionally a great defenseman, too. And that's precisely why it's time to trade him. ... It's that Letang remains so valuable that he can get you a mint. And if that mint happens to involve pieces that work better with the Penguins' broader puzzle, all the more reason a trade merits robust consideration.

Careful here.

LOL!

Sorry. Local talk. Dejan Kovacevic wrote the article. It's all the talk around here, and some people agree. Some people are losing their minds over it.

Again, who is selling, and selling what? That is my opinion, and will it come back and bite us in the arse?

That is the translation.

She's talking about the 'special' mustard they use for the hot dogs at CONSOL Energy Center.

Trade Le-Tang for Gatorade. Far less sugar.

Letang severely misses Scuderi. The whole purpose of bringing him back, was to be the defensive minded anchor on that pairing. Unfortunately Scuderi got hurt. When is he due back?

They usually do bite. But I don't think they are even asking around.

Hmm.

Suspect. ;)

Scuderi has been back only a few games, so they may have to build the chemistry, but it wouldn't be Pittsburgh if people weren't ready to jump from the bridges.

January 24, 2014  10:59 AM ET

Letang to the Caps? We're going to be dealing for a D- man - and one who really likes to play defense - soon ( I hope ).

well you are a better Pen's fan than I am.

He's a great kid, loyal, wants to be here for life...so we should trade him. Not sure, if you're going to write this article, why you include that. Why spend that space noting how loyal and appreciative he is, only to suggest that the organization should not show the same loyalty?

Agreed.

My prediction? Shero doesn't move him.

Credit card statement isn't going to show the purchase of a shovel and lye, is it?

He floats in and out, more Steelers and Pirates than Penguins.

Although, he never forgets how I pointed out Sid's back hander.

He is easily overwhelmed, so I think the bosses get to him. Huge WVU fan as well since he attended.

Pretty amiable guy. I cut him huge slack...his wife is a Flyers fan, one step-son Rangers fan and second step-son Devils fan. I guess he spends alot of time on the couch, he is always covered in cat hair.

I figure Ottawa just might be getting tired of the Spuzzum trip, and that he'd waive to go to Pittsburgh too - trouble is, they'd want more than Letang (who'd prob'ly look pretty good playing for a real Coach though) - maybe Foo-foo (the) fighter, and a first round pick, to get Lehner or Anderson included goin' the Pingus way. They'd almost certainly throw in Corvo too - just to be rid of 'im.

If they wanted to trade him which I doubt they do would be a difficult one. I don't think they could find a team willng to give up what the Pens would want back for him.
