09:23 AM ET 01.25 | Mark Cuban gave Mikhail Prokhorov another reason to be defensive about being an absentee owner. Leading off his answer with a joke that he???s only referring to those under 6-foot-5 (Prokhorov is 6-8), Cuban said running a team from afar not only contradicts his philosophy, it???s an overall unproductive approach. Prokhorov has attended just two games this season, flying once from Moscow to Brooklyn. ???That???s why I sit so close, that???s like trying to run a company and not being able to go to the sales meetings, not being able to go to the customer service meetings or support meetings,??? Cuban said Friday before the Nets hosted the Mavericks. ???There???s a reason why you???re starting to see owners get closer and closer and closer. ???Because you want ??? culture is important, attitude is important, communication is important.???

Why Don't You Just Play, Bro?

He should jus worry about his Mavs. Not sure why he's picking battles with other owners.

Question was asked... Question was answered.

What's the problem?

The problem is when you have a reputation. Any other smart gentleman would have "passed" that question or just say 'that's their style' or such.
Not Cuban. Can never pass up opportunities to ding someone with something.

He's likes to troll for a reaction at times.

The Nets are 9-1 in their last 10 games.

Hmm. Didn't the Nets just beat the Mavs? Maybe Cuban should back off. I mean, being close to the action didn't stop him from completely gutting a Championship team. Everybody knows the first title for a collection of players is the hardest. Experience could've gotten them another. Instead, he broke up the team in some crazy quest for a great free agent, as if breaking up the team (and low-balling Tyson Chandler) wouldn't leave a sour taste in any Max-player free agent. Broke up the team, leaving everyone to wonder what might have been. Stupid. Maybe Cuban should back off and let professionals run the team. Like the Nets owner, a team that just beat the Cuban Mavs. LOL

Well then - fire the reporters.

The problem with a lot of sports organizations is the owner meddling, ala Haslam and Jones

I don't see why Prokhorov has to attend every game in person. He hired a GM to run the basketball operations for a reason. Prokhorov has a full-time job in his other business ventures. The Nets is merely another business investment to him.

I am sure the Dallas Cowboys fans would prefer the hands-off style of Prokhorov.
