10:36 AM ET 01.25 | Urban Meyer has made assembling top five recruiting classes routine, and that's why he's considered the fiercest recruiter in college football. And in 2014, Meyer is back at it again. Ohio State???s recruiting class has 21 oral commitments and ranks among in the top three in team rankings assembled by all three major recruiting services -- Rivals.com, Scout.com and 247Sports. But where does the rest of the Big Ten stack up with the Buckeyes? Cleveland.com averaged every team's rankings from all three services and ranked them in order. According to the numbers, the Buckeyes haven't been challenged by anyone else in the Big Ten on the recruiting trail.

Rivals, Scout and 247 exist to sell subscriptions. Don't fall for their BS.

Sadly for the Buckeyes, championships are earned on the field, and not in the rankings.

Didn't Ole Miss and Clemson win the Rivals rankings last year or the year before?

I generally agree with your comment. It is more about what you do with who you bring in than some services opinion of someone. I have seen way to many 5* wash out. On our team alone this yr we had two 5*'s on defense Sr Pittsburgh (Cory) Brown at Safety and Jr LB Curtis Grant did not start and that is on a defense that sucked.
So ratings are a bit suspect. However that being said and agreed, programs start with talent. And programs that consistently recruit top talent are consistently in play for conference championships and bowl berths.

Watch Ole Miss this yr. I bet they contend for SEC West. They had a crap load of Frosh and Sophs in the two deep. I was impressed with them.

Clemson's only issue was FSU. They will fall off next yr, losing Watkins and Boyd on O.
