Don't be surprised if the Texas program attracts a couple of more Kevin Durant-like talents in the next few seasons. Rick Barnes did a masterful job in orchestrating his one season with Durant. And other basketball phenoms will take note of that in the future.

Plus, Rick Barnes is like Mack Brown before and after Vince Young...hell of recruiter...awful gameday coach. You could always find Durant coming off of a baseline screen and posting up 15-18 feet having to put up a fade away against 2 defenders. Ask USC and Kansas if they knew.

He probably won't get another Durant, but Durant is not the first Player of the Year he's recruited (TJ Ford) and I don't believe he will be the last. Rick Barnes will get it done and keep Texas in the top 16.

rick barnes will never find someone as good in terms of raw ability as durant. Yes, he may find a more "polished" all around player but not to the skill set of durant. Keep in mind ford won the award later in his college career than durant

No one will repeat what Kevin Durant did as a freshman at Texas. Players like Durant don't come around often.

Texas with the College Player of the Year failed to win the Big-12. failed to win the Big-12 Tournament, Failed to win the NCAA Tournament. In big games Durant scored big but the rest of the team might as well have stayed home. Texas A &M, Kansas and Southern Cal all proved that one player is not enough. Think how much better Durant would be having played with Julian Wright, Brandon Rush, Mario Chalmers, Russell Robinson, Darell Arthur, Sherron Collins, Sasha Kahn and Darnell Jackson. Coach Barnes had LaMarcus ALdridge, TJ Ford and Kevin Durant and failed to win the NCAA title. Future Kevin Durants (if there ever are any) will choose a school they can take to the NCAA title and it's unlikely that will be Texas.
