09:35 AM ET 01.26 | The Red Wings are on the mend. Forward Johan Franzen has been out longer than anyone since he suffered a concussion Dec. 15. After a good skate Saturday and continued progress, general manager Ken Holland told the Free Press that Franzen, barring a setback, would play Sunday against the visiting Florida Panthers. Franzen has missed 16 games since he was hit in the face by Tampa Bay's Radko Gudas. Franzen first thought he would be out for five days. Instead, he's dealt with constant headaches and has lacked mental acuity until his recent stream of steady progress.

Don't Ring Your Bell, Bro.

You can say all you want about playoff scoring but this guy needs to go. The team is playing fairly well right now with the young guys bringing it every night. This guy doesn't hit....takes shifts off and won't go in the corners and muck it up. He's just going to take a playing spot from a younger guy that deserves it more

If mental acuity is the yardstick a lot of NHLers should be sitting out.

Good to see the Mule coming back with the rest, Helm's back, Ericsson too. But would hate to see these young kids not continue to play, Tatar, Jurco, Glendening need to stay even if to get ready for next season.

Funny, I'm thinking the same thing about some of the Pens veterans who came back from injuries. The kids they brought up from Wilkes-Barre were doing just as good, if not better. Its going to be interesting at the trade deadline.

Some of what you say is on, but too many other players could go ahead of him. Weiss, Alfredsson are two.

Why is it that I can see this guy as old, fat, and lazy? (here's hoping it's still a long way off yet) - kinda Gretzky-esque . At least the Grating one's suit-jacket made him look a wee tad sveltering - the afternoon sportswear, yoy!.

Yep. We'll be missing only 6 starters now. But, we keep finding ways to win just the same. Bodes well for the home stretch.

I agree on Weiss but Alfie I'd keep around...
