02:39 PM ET 01.26 | When the Denver Broncos take the field at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N. J., on Feb. 2, safety Mike Adams will be playing just 12 miles away from his hometown of Patterson. Adams recently spoke to the media about playing so close to home and he vowed to walk home on the New Jersey turnpike in his uniform and helmet after the game if the Broncos are able to come away victorious.

That's good that way some rioting fan came take his revenge out

Each mile walked he should donate a 1000 dollars to his favorite charity which would be only 12000 dollars but that's a nice donation to any charity (12000 to him isn't much is why I say only). I just hope he doesn't get mugged.

I wonder how long before he gets picked up for walking on the Turnpike?

Keep your helmet on, bro. You don't want that New Jersey lingering on you.

Apologies.

Is it really that safe to be walking around in the dark streets on a cold wintery evening wearing a champaign drenched uniform ? Wearing his bright orange uniform will prevent some drunk driver from running him over but it will also attract a bunch of autograph seekers and this will slow him down considerably. So in his mind he may be thinking he'll be home by 10 or 11 pm but my guess is that when the clock strikes midnight he'll abort his plan and take a cab.

January 27, 2014  09:52 AM ET

Would love to see that happen, but The Hawks might put a damper on that!!!

January 27, 2014  10:40 AM ET

Better have a bunch of security guards to protect him from the muggers.

He doesn't take the NJ Turnpike ... he needs to take I-80.
