07:31 AM ET 01.27 | Dwyane Wade hadn't come off the bench since 2008, but that was the plan Sunday, and it was his decision. Wade said his knees were feeling "all right" after the game. He was able to stay conditioned during his weeklong absence by conducting personal workouts. Health has been perhaps the biggest topic about Wade the past two seasons. "People can [think] whatever they want," Wade said. "The reality of it is you got to wait and see. I'm not going to make a bigger deal out of it than it is and I'm not going act like it's nothing. It's very well documented. It's covered too much. People can think what they want." ... The Heat are thinking more about the big picture. Wade will likely miss more games the remainder of the season with hopes of him being fully healthy during the playoffs.

Its like iwm being a part time fan

And it is 100% the smart play by Miami.
Why play when they can't be worse than a #2 seed?

Better Sign Up For Obamacare, Bro.

The home town discount is now being paid back at full price. I wonder if his career will be like BRoy soon. Smart for Miami to get him rested. I wonder if they should shut him down for a month and then have him come back close to full strength 1 month before the playoffs?

They don't even need him until the playoffs. Much ado about nothing. The younger guys are providing more than ample support to LBJ and Bosh. Rest a LOT Wade!

This dwades future. His body isn't going to magically heal yearly as he ages. Wades injuries are only going to spiral out of control faster the closer he gets to the end. I'd rest him all year for the playoffs, and would spend a lot of thinking this summer on his future if I were Miami

Yep... Play him enough to keep his chops tuned and save it for the tournament.

BRoy couldn't last 10 years in the league, Wade has.
Wade is a finals MVP & All star MVP...
Roy can't get an autographed jersey much less wear Wade's shoe!
Wade is a hofer!

Wade has been a part-time player for a long time.

As long as he is "healthy" for another playoff run, no need to burn him or anyone else out.

Btw, how genius is The Godfather, Pat Riley looking for bringing in Oden and Beasley!

Agreed but the whole point is about his career in the future for the Heat. They need to shut him down for a month and let him recover. To bring him back once a week is crazy. They need to prolong his career.

The offseason for the Heat is going to be very interesting. I wonder how much less Wade will take to stay on board?

Then they'd probably just let him walk.... It's the smart thing to do....

He is not opting out. He has got $15-20 million coming to him in the next year.

To me the bigger question is what will Lebron do if DWade just can't get it done in the playoffs any more. Will he still want to stick around?

Morning GB!

Wade should get part time salary as well.
