07:36 AM ET 01.27 | After a rough start, Charlie Strong has bounced back on the recruiting trail, but Texas lost a big one on Sunday evening. Four-star Cy Falls outside linebacker Otaro Alaka flipped from Texas to Texas A&M. Here is his tweet: "I'd like to thank Coach Strong and UT for the offer but Ive decided to decommit from the university of Texas and commit to Texas A&M! #gigem" ... Alaka originally committed to Texas back in April but started exploring other options after Mack Brown resigned. He made an official visit to Texas A&M last weekend and hosted both Kevin Sumlin and Strong for in-home visits last week. Alaka is the fifth prospect to decommit since Strong took over at Texas. He is the 22nd commit in Texas A&M's 2014 class. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder is rated as the No. 16 overall player in the state.

Says Cy Falls, not Cy-Fair. Never heard of Cy Falls.

Not sure of the LB situation at Hornville, but if they are short, then this does hurt but I don't recall any of the B.O. (Burnt Orange) fans saying LB was position of need.

Cypress Falls is in the Cypress Fairbanks School District....I googled it.

But I thought that TU could just pick and choose whoever they wanted....all the kids in Texas grow up wanting to play in Austin..

::Heh heh heh::

Can't be. A&M in the SEC and ALL SEC schools play damn good defense. It is a rule.

Thanks D2 -- that's not my area of town so I don't pay much attention, which is readily apparent.

I kinda agree with LUS, the eaTme D suxes mightily, but I guess the kid wants a challenge -- or at least he thinks he can get ALL the tackles since everybody else on the D suxes so bad?

Yep good player. One of the concerns about getting Strong was his lack of familiarity with Texas players. This validates that thought.

Rumors rolling around are that he thought CS was going to be a tougher coach to play for. Only time will tell.

If that rumor is true, you are better off without him.

Thinks he can get on the field quicker there, which is probably true

But, by the end of the reg season, wasn't Mizzou touted as having a great D?
