07:34 AM ET 01.28 | And, now, we're inside a month before the trade deadline, and the clock is ticking. [The Suns] hold one of the league's most valuable assets for deal partners wanting to save themselves several millions of dollars: the expiring -- and insured -- contract of injured center Emeka Okafor. Once Phoenix reached the midway point of its season on Wednesday with Okafor still sidelined with a neck injury, an insurance policy began to take over payment on 80 percent of the remaining $14.4 million on his 2013-14 contract, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Whoever deals for Okafor before the trade deadline will receive an insurance payout of $5.7 million. ... [The appeal of Okafor's financially friendly deal] has general manager Ryan McDonough on the search to fortify his roster for a playoff run.

Bad suggestion. Kobe might not like it especially when he is coming back soon.

Send Tys-Cream Chandler to them, and have some money to spend THIS Offseason.

Oh wait, I'm talking about my Knicks, never-mind.

Okafor like Bynum are worth more because of their favorable contracts. When the value of the dollar outweighs the value of the talent the player is screwed.

You are correct Sir, it would be an outstanding move, and that is why I know it won't happen. My Knicks don't do smart. *sigh.

And will be a Laker till retirement, so what's your point. Pau is a goner whether they trade him now or he leaves in the offseason....

Lol. Thanks, I have been waiting on a response for my application for years now, too many to count. At least I was around to see them win their only two. Oh well, at least the Billion Dollar Comedy Club, formerly known as Madison Square Garden, is packed every night, so Jimmy is happy.
