07:30 AM ET 01.28 | From New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker's point of view, the Garden State should occupy a greater slice of the sporting consciousness. [Booker] is "passed miffed" that his home state isn't getting more attention ahead of the Super Bowl, which is being billed primarily as a New York event. "I passed miffed a while ago. I mean this is ridiculous," Booker said Monday on FOX 5's "Good Day New York." "Every time they talk about the Super Bowl, (you hear) 'we'll see you in New York.' Well they're not playing in New York, they're playing in New Jersey." Sunday's Super Bowl will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. ... [The] popular Democrat said he couldn't bear that his state was failing to garner attention for the momentous event.

January 28, 2014  07:43 AM ET

He didn't realize this when the teams there were named the NY Giants, and the NY Jets ?

Yeah because most of the teams fans don't live in Jersey, especially the Giants.

Yeah... they should have made a bigger fuss years ago.

Now it's practically a statute of limitations situation. Less official. These teams are well established as "New York".

January 28, 2014  07:53 AM ET

The Mayor of Rutherford didn't even get a ticket to the game.

Senator you need to worry more about getting people in this country health benefits, raise for people on social security, and getting the minimum wage raise in order for people to have a better life in this country , instead of what people are saying where the Super Bowl is to be played.

I'm sure we'll hear tonight all about how wonderful things are..but I digress.

January 28, 2014  08:11 AM ET

He was probably thinking of the NY/NJ Knights of the World League of American Football. Perhaps the Senator should concentrate on more important matters.

doesn't this ''booker-dude'' realize that most people from new jersey are too busy [tanning, working-out, gelling their hair] to even attend/wake-up early for any ''home'' games....?!

January 28, 2014  08:43 AM ET

Don't forget how the UN will spend some time discussing the Redskins name change. I'm sure people in Darfur are relieved.

I consider New Jersey and New York city as a collective unit anyway

January 28, 2014  08:53 AM ET

This plaintiff cry goes back 40 years after the Giants played in the Yale Bowl while the old stadium was being built. All part of the original deal. If Jersey is not happy with it, then they should have just said " No, don't build that thing here and bring in all that revenue."

Jeesh!
