07:39 AM ET 01.28 | Cole Hamels hit the big 3-oh this past month, and he's antsy. In his first interview of the New Year, Hamels spoke with CSNPhilly.com about a number of topics Monday, including the team's performance in 2013, clubhouse chemistry and the possibility of rebuilding. Of course, this wasn't the first time Hamels commented on these topics. He spoke about all three -- and not in positive tones -- in the December issue of Philadelphia magazine. Hamels took on the issues again Monday. In fact, he raised the issue of clubhouse chemistry. The last two seasons "definitely caused some frustrations in the whole team morale," Hamels said. He mentioned the firing of Manuel, the number of injuries, and the losing as leading to frustrations and morale problems.

Well it didn't help the Phillies that Hamels turned in his worst season since 2009 last year.Quit yer whining, Sally, and get to work.

It was all downhill after beaning Harper for no apparent reason and then getting embarrassed when Harper stole home.

QUOTE(#6):

That was such a prat move on Hamels' part. I loved it when Harper didn't get crazy in response and just put his head down and stuffed that ish right back in Hamels' face. Also, if you've ever heard Hamels speak, you know that he's got the voice of a whiney 16-year-old boy, completely befitting his actions and attitude.

It was cool when Harper showed Cole who the boss was, not so much when he tried to do the same with the wall in LA.

To be fair, the Phillies did sign Bobby Abreu, so things are looking up in the Philadelphia.

You're forgetting that Hamels has been a vegan for ten years.

And his dad gambled away his signing bonus.

They're in advanced contract talks with Dick Allen and Mike Schmidt and are also trying to contact the agents of Chuck Klein and Grover Cleveland Alexander.

The forecast for 14 isn't much better with little chance of catching up with the Braves in their division, it only leaves them with a chance to secure a wild card position.

Funny how if you are winning chemistry is not an issue. Lose a bunch and the tail starts wagging that dog.

Chemistry seems to suffer a great deal when much of your team is on the wrong side of 33 years old.

Let your pitching do the talking Cole.

QUOTE(#14):

I don't know about that. The Red Sox were one of the older teams in 2013, and it seems their chemistry wasn't too bad.

That's a different kind of chemistry.

Hamels may had regreted not signing w/the yankees or Angels but what else can we all expect??

well we all know too well about the things that could happened at the end of the season,
if the team fails to win the pennant/if the team fails to reach the play off berth/
at the end somebody has to pay for all those fails and mistakes!!
