07:39 AM ET 01.28 | As expected, Michigan State's Adreian Payne will likely miss his sixth consecutive game for the Spartans, but Keith Appling is a different story. [Appling] has every intention of being in the starting lineup against the Hawkeyes. Appling has been bothered by hip and wrist injuries, but it's the injury to his right wrist that has become a problem. He aggravated it last week against Indiana and struggled shooting the ball in the loss to Michigan. But with Payne likely out and Branden Dawson certainly out with a broken hand, Appling has no plans to sit. "We already have two of our players down," Appling said Monday. "If I chose to sit down, who knows what would happen?" As for Payne, coach Tom Izzo said the senior is running near 80 percent and will start to do more work near the end of the week.
