02:16 PM ET 01.28 | Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman started off his collegiate career at Stanford as a wide receiver, but he eventually made the transition to defensive back and his hard work and dedication to his craft has allowed him to develop into one of the best in the National Football League. In a recent interview, Sherman discussed his parents, whom he credits for his work ethic. Sherman's father drives a trash truck and his mother works with disabled children. Both of Sherman's parents have stuck with their jobs despite their son's NFL job, and his father will be flying home the day after Super Bowl XLVIII in order to get back to his usual trash route. As we get closer to the Super Bowl, we learn more about who Sherman is as a person, and it is clear that he is a great guy who we could all learn from and he can offer a lot more than interesting post-game tirades.

"Sherman's father drives a trash truck" and "had to get back to his usual trash route."

And the press said Richard Sherman could have been more eloquent in his choice of words.

It's funny how he gives his parents so much credit for all of his success, yet he doesn't do anything to get them out of Compton? Sherman talks a good game, but his actions sometimes don't match his speech patterns. He also touts so much that he does for the community and for charity. However, now reports are surfacing that he was the one trying to egg on Michael Crabtree into a fight at a charity event in Arizona. Just one more check on his speech pattern that doesn't jive. Even if Crabtree were trying to start the fight, like so many say (I doubt the reports.), why on earth would Sherman be so shallow as to try to start a fight with Crabtree at a charity event. Has this guy lost his mind?
