No forward progress in Cleveland

07:15 AM ET 01.30 | That Chris Grant met with the media at all, as he did on Wednesday, was in itself newsworthy. The Cavaliers general manager doesn't often address the state of the team just for the sake of it, and with the way things are going lately, it took some guts to do it on this day. Grant offered the company lines about the Cavs needing to play more consistently, how there have been some positive moments, but clearly not enough. ... And if you're looking for progress, good luck. Nothing here supports the belief there has been some. So what will the Cavs do now? If you listen to Grant, it sounds like they'll just try to move on with the hand he has dealt them. "That's a hard one," Grant said about the possibility of making another move before the Feb. 20 trading deadline.

I don't even think Bennett got invited to Rookies Showcase........#1 pick!!!!

The Knicks face the Cavs tonight. Let the FN games begin!

One Step Forward And Two Steps Back, Bro.

If I were the Raptors, since their in the playoff hunt and will likely not have a chance with a top 15 pick in the draft I'd try and put their current 1st rounder and filler to land Bennett. Dude needs minutes and obviously doesn't fit the Cavs system.

Gilbert's kid will be back @ the lottery in June. Hoping the Cavs will free Zeller and trade him to a real playoff contender.

Bennett is in the race for the ugliest NBA player ever, along with sheldon williams.

Let's see Zeller help his current team make the playoffs.

Haha. I don't think Cleveland is ready to give up on the kid after half a season. He is coming off a career high 15 pts and 8 boards lol. Now that Varejao is hurt he will get an increase in minutes.

I really hope this kid is saving his money. He could be the first #1 overall to not have his contract extended ala Thabeet and Johnny Flynn.

I doubt it. This kid just hasn't been giving a real chance yet.

Not true. Sounds like he has been given a chance but he is who he is. How many chances can you get if you're not showing any improvement? Are the Cavs willing to wait 3 years to find out?

Cavs with the upset.

I hope they free Zeller too, he's worthless. When will teams learn that very few big white men make an impact in the NBA? They are just not athletic or strong enough. The Cavs are probably one of the NBA's biggest disappointments. Even Kyrie took a step back. (but still one of the NBA's best PG's) Thompson is the only player who elevated his game from last year.

I'd be surprised as poorly as they are playing. They look lottery bound and happy to be lottery bound. Brown was a terrible hire. Grant was too. Gilbert will probably wind up cleaning house at the end of the year.

I think he will get better but heck the bar is now set so low, even shooting 25% would be "better".

Not good when they can't even find a picture of you in your current teams jersey

First off, lets jus b clear here. Bennett shouldn't have been the #1 pick...or even a top 3 pick. The Cavs GM jus didn't know what they were doing which apparently is the norm round there. SMH.

Brain freeze, blame it on the weather in Cleveland.
