07:23 AM ET 01.30 | All Victor Martinez has to do for reality to set in is look at Detroit's roster. Aware of contracts that will be higher on the priority list, [Martinez] already sounds uncertain about his future with the Tigers. In fact, his goodbye might have begun with comments he made at TigerFest. ... After shedding the rust that resulted from missing all of 2012, Martinez hit .370 for the Tigers from June 29 on last year. In the last 80 games he started, in other words. Overall, he hit .301 after wallowing in the low .200's for nearly three months. But Martinez didn't address the question of whether he's still in his prime. He spoke instead about his chances of returning with the Tigers. "I want to stay here, yes," Martinez said. "But they have a lot going on. They have Scherzer; they have Miggy."

If you don't ask for a lot of money, Detroit's the Place, otherwise, it's on the road again!

He's a pretty much a DH for the rest of his career. That's Miggy's job eventually.

Considering last year, that may be sooner than later for Cabrera. Moving to 1B will help, but still.

With Leyland finally gone the Tigers are finally getting speed & defense instead of plodding station to station players. Victor is pretty much just a DH

He's an excellent hitter and many AL teams can use a dependable DH.
He should get a good contract from one of those teams, if not Detroit.

C'mon home to Cleveland, Bro, and be our DH.
