Sixers could eye Evan Turner for Emeka Okafor trade

05:23 PM ET 01.31 | Phoenix isn't going to blow up their roster to acquire a star, rather they're going to package Emeka Okafor with some of the first-round draft picks they have stockpiled in order to land a veteran. One or two of those veterans may come from the Philadelphia 76ers. According to Chuck Myron, a potential hangup in the deal may be that the Suns don't want to give up assets for a short-term rental player, which is what Turner would be. Another hangup is salary. The Suns may not want to pay Young through the 2016 season. Still, the stars may have aligned for the Suns to acquire Turner and Young before the deadline and the situation will be one to monitor closely.

Two teams going no where.

So.....I guess you're of the mind-set that if Phoenix doesn't win the championship, their season would be an abject failure.......

And if they don't have an honest chance....they should just do nothing to improve.

Is that it?

What do you mean by nowhere? Only one wins the title so are the other teams going nowhere?

No where meaning, lack of direction. I mean what's Philly's strategy anyway? They made some absurd trades with Jrue. They lack an identity.

They lack a direction? They traded Holliday for two first round picks, one being Noel. They drafted MCW who looks like the best player out of the entire draft. They got Tony Wroten for almost nothing and he is producing. They have Hawes on an expiring deal and Turner about to be a RFA. Both are intriguing trade pieces. Thad Young is the only deal that is on the books and he is at least a decent player. They will have their own lottery pick and the Pelicans pick this year in a loaded draft. They will have max cap room moving forward. Sounds like they have a plan, to me.

Or the Lakers.

Makes more sense for Philly than it does for Phoenix, unless their intentions are to then move Turner.
