Darren McFadden created a major buzz at the NFL scouting combine when he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.27 seconds on Sunday. That's also where news got out that McFadden is not only battling a paternity suit, but that he told a team during an interview Saturday night that he has two children on the way. In addition to meeting with the Falcons, he met with the Raiders, who pick fourth in the draft, and several other teams.

So is this guy the next Elijah Dukes? Him and McFadden should totally exchange phone numbers.

No dog kennels though, right?

February 25, 2008  07:08 AM ET

When did Shawn Kemp start playing football?

February 25, 2008  07:10 AM ET

If you had two paternity suits after you, you would run a 4.27 too..

sounds like D-Mac isn't the only one waiting to see how much money he'll get in his rookie year........LMAO at jj730! :-)

February 25, 2008  07:47 AM ET

My god - spreading babies all over the place - expensive long tern...........$1 for a trojan - priceless.

February 25, 2008  07:51 AM ET

and his draft value just plummetted for alot of teams

February 25, 2008  07:55 AM ET

How is this going to affect his draft status? The man went out there and ran a 4.27 and then a 4.33. You think a head coach cares who he sleeps with? Travis Henry has 9 kids, by 9 women. He didn't have a problem getting a job. He failed a drug test, and Mike Shannon still fought for him. McFadden made some dumb choices in college, he's still the best talent in the draft.

February 25, 2008  08:07 AM ET

A paternity suit(s) will not deter teams from that 4.27 speed, trust me! Speed Kills!

February 25, 2008  08:16 AM ET

I guess in his culture he's well on his way to being considered a "real man." A lot of you people will never get it: the last thing he would want to do is put on a Trojan. Getting women pregnant is a badge of honor to these guys. And anybody who decides to bash me.....go right ahead. I know exactly what I am talking about...I'm married to the truth.

I ashamed to say that I am living without a Badge of Honor. Getting married, being a fulltime father.........how cliche. Spreading babies around and sending an occasional check, (if forced to) warrants nothing. Its not being a man at all.

Thats gross Astro - but congrats.

February 25, 2008  08:27 AM ET

How many of you have been a 20 year old 2-Time Heisman Trophy runner-up? He's 20 and he's had the world thrown at him. Granted, he needs to grow up, but someone has to be there to help him in that process. But to act like you've never made some mistakes growing up is ridiculous. And how do you all know what kinda father he is going to be?

I got it Astro - just grossed me out. Maybe it revived some repressed memories.

are you making excuses for him?
I think the kind of father he will be is directly related to the fact that there are paternity SUITS against him. He says he has two kids on the way ? at the same TIME? and the women have to file paternity suits?
sounds like a Lance Briggs to me

February 25, 2008  08:34 AM ET

I'm not making excuses for him. I don't know the man. But you mean to tell me, these women don't sign dollar signs on his forehead? You don't believe that someone got in these woman's ears and told him to file these suits?

February 25, 2008  08:34 AM ET

Mel Kiper has listed his kids as late first or early second round pics in the 2030 draft.....and moving up.

February 25, 2008  08:35 AM ET

How is this going to affect his draft status?

jj730 | 02/25/08, 07:55 AM

Most teams have morals clauses. (Ok, maybe not the Cowboys - ZING) - If this was his longtime girlfriend who was pregnant and they were living together and blah blah blah, yes, a team probably wouldnt care. Moral irresponsibility by getting two women pregnant to me at least is indicative of a larger problem.

That very well could be. Many a woman has filed paternity suits.. However, they're the ones who look mighty stupid if they're wrong right?

4.33 is all the NFL teams are gonna see.
