Will This Extinguish The Heat, Bros?

Bynum is an arse clown..........

Let Cleveland sign him...

Oh wait.......

Never mind

Not a good move, IMO. He could be a negative presence in the locker room. May not be worth the risk.

I'm torn on this issue. On one hand, it's a clever ploy by Indiana to keep the heat from getting him. On the other hand, does anyone think Bynum is going to contribute heavily or teach them how to be champions? This is a move meant to spite the heat, not to actually improve Indiana much.

There's no risk at all, what risk are you talking about?
They have Hibbert and mahinmi. Drew may not see much minutes at all, other than some subbing for playoffs.
Plus NO ONE cares what he says or not say in the locker room, there are enough veteran on the team to stay focused, and a very mature coach.
For all we know, they might just sign him, and hand him a ticket to Hawaii.

Sign him to keep him away from the heat and park him at the end of the bowling lane.

I don't understand this. Is he more of an insurance policy guy who will get limited minutes? Or maybe get more rest for starting front court as the season winds down? Indiana has plenty of size.

I can't imagine David West letting this guy get out of line.

West is so f'in old-school...... is there anyone that wouldn't want him on their team?

Good point. Could be a move to ensure Pacers have a size advantage going into the post-season. Some risk there given Bynum's history, but maybe the Pacer's FO thinks it's worth it.

Looks like it's done. From Hoopshype:

The Indiana Pacers announced Saturday they have signed free agent center Andrew Bynum to a contract for the remainder of the season.

I really thought the Pacers and Bird had more class? Nothing like rewarding Bynum for his insolence... Another good team messing with its chemistry...
