Pistons forced to deal?

07:25 AM ET 02.03 | Pistons owner Tom Gores is in town, and the pressure may be on the rise. [It's] safe to say if things don't improve soon, change could be in the air. But the likely avenue of change that will draw the most discussion over the next few weeks is the trade avenue. ... Teams are reluctant to give up on young, skilled big men of high character like [Greg Monroe]. If a high-level player like Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo becomes available, would the Pistons consider it? Absolutely. But will they trade Monroe just to add a needed shooter or solid player that isn't a game-changer? Highly unlikely. That's a nice segue to look at what areas the Pistons need to improve. The Pistons' league-worst three-point shooting shows they need to address that area.

Here's a deal. Fire Joe Dumars. Detroit had money to spend on free agents. And once again, Dumars wasted big money on the wrong players.

Joe needs to go.

Dumas has been a problem since the Darko pick and the loss of Larry Brown. He has been a constant in the mess in Motown. Time for the owner to smell what's cooking.

I agree w/ everybody above. Fire Joe! He is the constant.

I have mixed feelings about Dumars. When he first took over, he made some brilliant deals that kept the Pistons in contention long after other defending champions had shot their wads. But I have failed to see that same brilliance in recent deals. Perhaps he needs to work with people who are more aware of the team needs (like Larry Brown) so that he knows what is needed and can acquire that needed talent with his trading skills?

Josh Smith is not a 3, he's a 4. When they decided to sign Smith they should have known Monroe and Smith could not coexist. Smith at the 3 spot has led to him jacking up an absurd amount of bad 3 point shots.

His career high was set last year, with 201, 3 point shot attempts. He's on pace to shatter that with a total of 285. His current 3 point shooting percentage of 24% is also a career low since he became a full time starter in 2006.

Focus on the dunk Josh.

C'mon Pistons. Detroit; with Monroe and Drummond, you have two pretty decent big guys to build around. Get a pass-first PG like Kendall Marshall to throw the ball up to the big guys. Rondo will be to expensive...

Would love to see Monroe a mobile Big man with a Big body playing along side LeBron in Miami, man, what would life be like for LeBron over the next 4 or 5 years. A young talented Big man with good hand and the ability to rebound, score & block a few shots. Life would definitely be good down in South Beach. Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7 .... you get my point!
