07:27 AM ET 02.03 | Former NBA star Tracy McGrady's post-playing work includes the part ownership of an independent league baseball in Biloxi, Miss., that will begin play in 2015. However, McGrady might be looking to do more than just be an executive. Rumor has it that he actually wants to pitch for the new ballclub. During Friday night's Thunder-Nets telecast, ESPN announcer, and former coach of McGrady, Jeff Van Gundy told the world of the seven-time NBA All-Star's possible plans. "I think (McGrady's) going to play independent league baseball as a pitcher this year." Van Gundy said. "I'm being serious. I've heard from sources in Houston, seriously, that he's throwing over 90 miles per hour." McGrady's love for America's Pastime isn't exactly new news.

If he's got that kind of ability and some organization is willing to give him a chance then why not?

If any of you have played the game and tried to pitch - you have to have a strong back, knees, and back to perform at that position of pitching. I doubt if he has the tools left to perform and remember some other NBA star thought he could hit a baseball and was proven wrong.

Pointless ego trip by an immature old guy.

The chances of McGrady making it to the majors are about the same as Best Policy getting laid.

Sad...very sad.

I'd pay 10, 15 bucks to see TMac pitch.

Dud just wants to play some baseball, what's the big deal. You're taking it too seriously/negatively.
