Habs seething over officiating

07:34 AM ET 02.03 | Even if he wasn't talking himself, most of the talk following Montreal's Sunday loss to the Jets centered around Brendan Gallagher. Gallagher received three minor penalties during the game, but most of the outrage in the Montreal room was about the rough treatment the pesky forward received during the final minute of the game. ... He was first held up by goaltender Al Montoya, who punched Gallagher in the head at least twice. As he skated free of Montoya, Gallagher went sprawling on the ice after contact with Zach Bogosian. And then he was held up a third time by Jacob Trouba, who came off the Winnipeg bench and made a beeline for Gallagher. "I counted five infractions that could have been called in the final minute," Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien said. "I'm going to ask for an explanation."

I'd sure be interested in hearing the referees' explanation of that situation. Clearly the Montreal player must have said something the referee didn't like and purposely "put his whistle away". I saw a bunch of penalties on the play.

The whole impartiality of the referees thing is a joke. That being said, it was kind of funny!

When a team lives by the dive, it shouldn't be surprised that occasionally real penalties do not called called.

"Habs seething over officiating"

Dumb arses! The Habs should know by now to leave a fruit basket and a free pass to a massage parlor in the ref's rooms BEFORE the game!

Exactly

I guess the ref's for yesterday's game weren't bilingual.

What do you base that on? The fact that Therrien wasn't ejected from the game.

Michel Therrien said. "I'm going to ask for an explanation." Well he's not Torts, that's for sure.

Torts would be trying to knock down the ref's locker room door with a 2 by 4.

Them refs just don't how to read lips in French. They didn't get the meaning of Therrien's "Sur mes levres, I said, enculer une mouche, merde embulante".

All pettiness aside, Gallagher was getting mugged.

Ha, ha... Gall- agher has to make it alot less obvious - after his bout with Marcus it was all gonna be ignored - the Trouba thing was laughable - he wouldn't go with the goaltender, he wouldn't go with Bogosian, and his answer to being challanged by Trouba was to skate into him awkwardly, and pretend to be impeded. If you're gonna linger and try to play larger you better be ready to go with someone - if Therrien was smart he quit whining -the refs don't like it, and the fans n Mounde Royale don't like it. Sounds like loser talk - Ottawa is going to find out the hard wy too, it seems - don't know what Ceci was thinking about, in the glacial time he spent over that puck behind the net - first it looked like he was going to try to protect it, then he looked like he was getting ready to brace hit Kadri, then ducked instead. I think the refs saw it the same way. I know that if the Jets reacted the way Smith and Cowen and Coach McLean did there would have been a penalty or more assessed, alright, but not to big, bad Kadri. It was from the side anyway, he slowed up before the contact and Ceci looked like he was playing bantamn - McLean and his boss looked like whiny loser fools - funny how it turned out, eh.

Don't lose your panties over it Michelle...so the referees didn't grossly favor the Habs just once in like 40 years...

The only (and I repeat ONLY) flaw I can find in this post is that the machine was an Enigma (with a capital E).

Well done!
