07:36 AM ET 02.04 | Mikko Koivu recently opened up about just how much international success means to the proud country of Finland, but surgery to repair a fractured right ankle might keep him in North America. Koivu told the Pioneer Press two weeks ago that there was "no doubt" he'd be ready to represent Finland in the Olympics. But Koivu has yet to practice with the Wild, and coach Mike Yeo said Monday that if he's not healthy before Finland's first game Feb. 13, the Wild don't want him to play in the Olympics. "First and foremost, if he's not physically capable, then of course we wouldn't want him to go," Wild coach Mike Yeo said. "But at the same time, we would be very proud and honored for him to go over there." Koivu has been skating on his own for more than a week, but has yet to re-join Wild teammates in practice.

One good whack and he's done for the year. Is it really worth the risk?

I gotta think the insurance companies will weigh in on Koivu, Stamkos and others before the first puck is dropped.

The same can be said of every player going over there. One good whack from a bitter KHLer and your season's done. They have nothing to lose and, they're protected by Mad Vlad.

JVR's a bit of a concern. Seems like he misses praccy every second session with some kinda tweak. Also, not sure what Kessel's going to do without his daily Royal Meats burger for 3 weeks...

Maybe not look like such a pie face?

Oh that's just cruel and you know it.
PS Hamburgler's face in that photo always killed me. Like he's so sad to have to be that close to Rob Ford. Unlike me.

The "cruel" part is that Staypuft fills out that hockey sweater without pads. :^)
