07:45 AM ET 02.05 | As Monday dawned, Auburn High School's star outside linebacker prospect Rashaan Evans may already have made the decision that would become official later in the morning. Kipp Adams, a national recruiting insider for 247 Sports, said Evans would be "that make or break guy" for both Auburn and Alabama. He admitted, however, Alabama would make a huge statement by landing the 6-foot-3, 220-pound five-star prospect from Auburn High. "You have to make a statement as far as Alabama recruiting," Adams told The Afternoon Sports Drive on WNSP-FM 105.5 in Mobile on Tuesday. "If they're able to go in and get a guy out of Auburn High School that has an Auburn offer, that is an Auburn legacy, that never happens. ... Rashaan Evans is that make-or-break guy really for both classes."

Just keep Grandpa happy. That's the key.

I think Rashaan should have both teams over for a backyard BBQ and a game of lawn darts.

Al.com has tried to pump this up as a make or break guy for Alabama, but with or without him, we'll have the #1 class. I don't see how that possibly makes him a make or break guy for Alabama.

February 5, 2014  09:12 AM ET

Really? This guy is the one who makes this class make or break? Really?

Ninja'd by the Kid.

The nations #1 rated dual threat QB faxed his LOI to Texas at 7:46 am. He could have stalled, played one side against the other, scheduled a press conference (LOL 18 year olds scheduling press conferences) or played coy in some sophomoric hat trick for the cameras ... but he wanted to be a leader so he sent his fax in.

We have guys hat do that. I always apprciate the guy who does not do drama and we have had a few over the years that once they committed there was never any chance they were wavering.

Agreed and those are the best kind to have around. A true leader comes on in and helps secure the rest of the class, becomes a recruiter himself. That's leadership.

The kids that crave the spotlight and stall for attention aren't really helping anything but themselves.

And the last thing a kid who is truly undecided needs is constant media pressure.

Like Terrelle Pryor.

After all is said and done, he goes with the Tide.

Our last and final prospect is making us wait until 11:30 when he will be the first to announce on ESPN's Twitter account. SMH this is dumb.

That happened with the first recruit Jones got for 2014, Vic Wharton. Solid 4* receiver committed with over a year until NSD but never wavered, shut down his recruitment and began recruiting other guys to UTK. That is always really cool to watch.

Possible, but I would bet on Aubie. And I agree with you that this is FAR from a make-break situation for Bama. But the media hacks gotta dredge whenever they get a chance

Hey, belly-dragger, nice job snatching Treon Harris from us. Could be the QB you guys needed.

14 early enrollees, 18 LOIs... any word on others signing with Tennessee? Brown? Dews?

Maybe he prefers Bama girls to Auburn's Georgia imports. ;-)

Give Jones credit for working the numbers within the rules. 14 early enrollees plus 18 additional LOIs is like signing two classes in one year.

No, I was actually reporting He Picked Alabama. It wasn't a guess.

FWIW, I got that.

You know, for a Bammer, you're alright, Joe. ;-)
