Hockey stars three-to-a-dorm in Sochi

07:47 AM ET 02.05 | The Ritz, it is not. [Canada's] men's hockey team will have stunning views of the Black Sea but their accommodations at the Olympic village in Sochi are basic -- two or three players to a room, sleeping on twin beds and sharing a bathroom. There is no special treatment for these NHL superstars. When they arrive next week, they'll bunk in the dorm-style rooms, just like the rest of the Canadian athletes. ... [Steven Stamkos], who is hoping to be recovered from a broken leg in time to play for Team Canada, says he's not worried about the close quarters, though it's been a while since he's experienced dorm living. "I remember playing an under-17 tournament and we had little dorm-style (rooms) like that," he told reporters in Tampa. "It's fun. You're with the guys. You just hope you don't have anyone who snores."

If I were Sid's roomies in Sochi I'd be concerned about seeing that smile on his face right before the lights go out for the night.

Three to a room? This is 'saving energy' Russian style. The brochure also suggests they take showers together to save hot water. ;-)

Don't worry, Sid... A twin bed is still big enough for you to spoon.

And toilets that don't take toilet paper??

How much do you want to bet that the politicians and IOC "dignitaries" don't have to deal with that $h*t??

Can't wait 'til it's Ova. Don't mind winter, sick and tired of O-lays - bad joke, and not very sporting. add the commercials and half the CBC to the mix, and it's 1, 2, upchuck
