Jagr irked by lineup change

07:54 AM ET 02.05 | Devils coach Pete DeBoer saw this one coming from the get-go. [DeBoer] is well aware of Jaromir Jagr's preference for stability in his linemates and sounded [Tuesday] as if he was almost expecting his leading scorer not be happy with his decision to split up what had been a pretty productive tandem in Jagr and center Travis Zajac. Sure enough, Jagr, a 41-year-old creature of habit, was not at all pleased with DeBoer swapping the centers on his top two lines. ... The usually-talkative Jagr had little to say about the change, but his feelings on it were clear. "It doesn't make sense to me and I don't want to talk about it either," said Jagr, who lead the Devils with 17 goals, 31 assists and 48 points in 57 games. "I don't really (care) either."

And - will be recycled next week for good measure.

Actually this is a new story about the same old story. The coach changed Jagr's linemates AGAIN and Jagr is PO'd AGAIN. DeBoer rides the short bus, he can't help himself.

Pretty sad when a 41 year old leads the club in scoring.

February 5, 2014  05:16 PM ET

Jar Ja(g)r's frustrated this week - next week he'll have to start really busting it, to keep up with Frolik and Krejci - if he's going to be on the top line.

Yeah, and people get mad cause he doesn't like it?

Would you when you're the leading scorer on the team? Great players have a bit more pull usually, and the team in NJ should be thanking him for replacing Kovie in a fine manner. IMO.
