05:31 PM ET 02.05 | There were rumors that a new Thursday night football package was in the works from the NFL and today we learned just where that package would end up. CBS won the bid to air the new Thursday night football package the NFL was offering. NFL games that already air on CBS as part of the networks Sunday package won't be affected by this new deal, rather CBS is double-dipping with their NFL coverage starting in 2014. The network will also be airing a Saturday double header late in the season, returning pro football to Saturday nights.

From what I gather, they'll air 8 Thursday games starting week 2. My wife is wondering what'll happen to The Big Bang Theory.

I'm just happy ESPN didn't get it.

Big Bang Theory is awesome. Question is which night will it get shipped off to. With more games on national tv I fear we may get more games like Jags-Browns than we were getting before.

Maybe they'll show the Big Bang Theory at half time, or cut into the clowns before the game!!!

You guys are worried about a sitcom? And peeps think I'm weird.

I find this humorous as well.

He did preface it with the 'his wife is wondering' disclaimer.

Yeah, but it's a hell of a sitcom.

Why would you kill your #1 time slot for three months of alternative programming? You first have to pay out the nose to the NFL and then you alienate your #1 shows' fan base and look at what happened to other top shows when the NY brain trusts start moving them around. Just wondering.

I just hope they leave Phil Sims at home on Thursday Night Football.
