05:33 PM ET 02.05 | ESPN.com reporter Brian Windhorst stated on Wednesday that the most competitive team in the 'LeBron James Decision Part II' sweepstakes could end up being the Los Angeles Clippers. Windhorst also stated that James could force the Heat's hand and facilitate a sign-and-trade, a scenario that Windhorst speculates could bring Blake Griffin to Miami. The fact of the matter is this: it's the middle of the season, the All-Star break isn't even here yet and both the Clippers and Heat believe they can win titles in 2014. Neither of them are thinking about free agency right now, but Miami won't play the part of a push-over the way the the Cavaliers did in 2010. If LeBron James wants to leave for Los Angeles, there won't be a package of picks coming back to Miami or a string of top-end players; it'll be Blake Griffin.

Being A Clipper Is Like Kissing Your Sister, Bro.

Mecca is smiling right now. Not a bad trade at all. Miami won't have a choice if Lebron wants the Clippers.

CMon! no one would WANTS the clippers. If he really wants a big market, he can go to the Lakers

The Clips will have to send more than Blake to Miami for the King. Griff is a dunker, pure and simple, he is very good during the regular season when teams allow highlight reel dunk. However, when the playoffs roll, teams will tight up the post, no layups or matador defense in the middle.

Yeah Right! ...everybody dreams of playing for the Clips :).

Cleveland is straight horrible right now... to not even discuss Lebron. Before.. I like the Mike Brown move.. but now.. They need to fire Grant and Brown by the ASB. Give Bennet some heavy minutes, and trade off Andy and Deng.

February 6, 2014  01:23 PM ET

If this were true and I'm not saying it is, LeBron isn't stupid enough to be traded to a team he believes won't contend. Him, CP3 & DJ, just pencil it in, in pen that is... NBA Champions!

February 6, 2014  02:47 PM ET

ESPN garbage... Why would LeBron consider the Clippers? I am pretty sure the Clippers don't want to split up DeAndre and Blake, especially with DeAndre coming on like he has this year... LeBron going to the Lakers, I could understand, but Clippers, no way!...

You haven't been watching the Clippers lately. A guy can't be averaging about 28 ppg just by dunking especially when their allstar PG has been out.

once again this is espn non-sense, again this deal makes no sense for the heat, as frankly griffin is a soft guy who plays no defense, and it's one of those let's see what nonsense trade we can make up

Can't c this trade happening.
