Hiring Brown began the end for Cavs GM

07:26 AM ET 02.07 | Owner Dan Gilbert made the move many Cavs fans might deem understandable in the midst of the team's dispiriting season. You have to wonder if coach Mike Brown will be next. The Cavs are on a six-game losing streak. They are 16-33, only slightly better than 15-34 that they were at this time a year ago. ... It seems pointless for the Cavs to retain Brown, unless the plan is for interim GM David Griffin to have the job next season and Griffin wants to keep Brown as coach. Because the recent collapse may be even more of a reflection on Brown than Grant. The Cavs returned from a West Coast trip with a 3-2 record. Grant had just traded for Luol Deng, and the team seemed to be moving in the right direction with the veteran small forward in the lineup. Since then, they are 1-8.

Everyone in Cleveland shook their heads when Brown was rehired. But, we were hopeful that Brown could rekindle the same magic we had with LBJ just with KI. Problem is LBJ is light years better than KI.

I don't think many coaches wanted the Cav's coaching job truthfully. Collins is out there McMillan, Van Gundy, Avery Johnson, Carlisimo, etc. The teams at the bottom of the list all pretty much hired long time assistants who got their first gig.

Curious why no other team has reached out to George Karl.

The Denver team was always competitive and in the mix for the playoffs......wasn't he free when they "rehired" Brown? (that last part, its honestly I question, I can't remember)

C'mon... everyone knows the fall of Cavs begun at the ESPN studio where a great decision was made.

It's Lebron!

Leave poor Grant alone... what do you expect someone to do when you cut off their hands and tell them to hold on?
