07:40 AM ET 02.07 | Owners understandably have a complicated relationship with NHL players in the Olympic Winter Games, but Philadelphia's Ed Snider has a particular grievance to air after Claude Giroux again missed the cut. Tampa Bay's Martin St. Louis was selected Thursday to replace the injured Steven Stamkos. "It's a farce," Snider fumed. "He's one of the best players in the league. He's better than half the guys on that (Olympic) team." Snider was just getting started. "Anybody who thinks Claude Giroux doesn't belong on the Olympic team, they don't know anything about hockey, as far as I'm concerned," he said. ... Asked if he'd like seeing the return of the World Cup in hockey, Snider said, "I'd like to see anything other than the Olympics. I mean, I hate 'em."

12th in points, 32nd in goals. The start of his season was just awful. That probably had a lot to do with being left off the team.

You hate the Olympics because your boy wasn't picked? Huh!?

Giroux stunk for most of the first half of the season. Maybe Snider's talent evaluation skills are part of the reason the Flyers haven't won anything in a very long time.

So the Philly whining does start at the top. Relax Snider, James Neal didn't make it either and he's a bigger, better goal scorer. They can only take so many.

They made the right choice with St. Louis..... and I'm a Giroux fan

Ed im sure the Olympics thinks the same way about you.

Meanwhile, other owners are miffed that their highly compensated all stars are missing regular season games and risking injury in Sochi.

I agree. And, I agree.

BTW, Snider learned his talent evaluation skills from Paul Holmgren.

Ed,
Marty is having a better season. Plain and simple. Go back and watch the one man show he put on again SJ recently.

Signed,

Or ... taking a shower!

I'm far from hating the Limpics.

But I'm certainly disliking having hockey futzed up by sending NHLers to play in them for some unknown reason.
