10:40 AM ET 02.09 | The ambiguous "athlete" tag was placed on five-star Bo Scarbrough for a reason, but there's no confusion about where he'll start his Alabama career. There is, however, some open-ended possibilities with how he'll be utilized once he grows comfortable within Lane Kiffin's offense. Scarbrough will be a running back when he joins the team in May. It's a position loaded with depth and experience -- as it stands now, he'll be the eighth member of the group.

AL.com cracks me up!

Of course they'll assign him to a position for now and of course the possibilities are open-ended ... that happens EVERYWHERE! What else are they going to do with him, have him stand around with the kickers until they decide where he fits?

Well he could play kicker or punter. Cause he is a athlete.

Not much to report on in college football from now until spring ball except for the occasional misbehavior like fighting, DUI, and weed smoking.

Same thing from the spring game until fall practice.

If he's truly a 5* talent (there are only 15 of them in this year's recruiting class) and he's an "athlete" then Saban and Associates LLC might consider using him as something other than a RB. SEC offenses are becoming more prolific and teams will have to find more ways to outscore their opponents.

Just sayin' ...

In other words, a typical day in CFB.

I think this is probably what will happen. I know at MSU, the recruiting focus at the skilled positions is on athletes who play football. Usually those kids have played multiple positions and can be slotted in where the team's need is greatest. e.g. Jeremy Langford, our starting tailback last year, spent one year as a DB, and another as a wide receiver.

Right after this post was made came the article about the Tenn players being arrested. Boys will be boys.

Pretty much. This is the time of year where you don't want to hear or read anything about your program.

These experts that say this or that make me laugh. Guess what we were told about Derrick Henry? Yeah that guy who seemed unstoppable at the end of the year. Lugenbill said we would make him into a linebacker, because "that's where he best grades out at".

He wanted to play RB and we evaluated him for RB and decided that is what we would recruit him for.

Now... maybe we should have used him more as a freshman. Because he seemed pretty good at the end of the year.

Anyway Bo Scarborough wants to play RB but I think he may have played WR in one of the AA games and did pretty well. So, he'll be tried on offense. He's another guy they said we would make an LB.

They could use someone that can make a 57 yard field goal
